The new office was chosen together, by a team, as is customary at Basis: the bureau's architects visited each of the conditionally suitable sites - they looked at them, tried them on, and discussed the pros and cons. Among all the variety of office premises they looked for "their" place, where they would sincerely like to come in the morning and where a team of 40 people would be comfortable to spend part of their lives.
A comfortable space of the right size and with potential for growth was found in a historic building in the Pushkin Square neighbourhood. The building was designed by the legendary Fyodor Shechtel in 1907 and originally housed the printing house of the newspaper Utro Rossii. Now it is a multifunctional space, with cafes, restaurants, shops and workspaces. The location of the office was immediately favourable - it is convenient for all employees to get there from different parts of the city. There were no questions about the infrastructure either: we would not be left without good coffee and healthy food in the centre of Moscow.
The office was ready to be renovated: all that was left was to update it and pay attention to landscaping - we specialise in landscaping for a reason! Each of the six ficus trees was chosen by us in person and is growing under the careful supervision of dendrologists. We make sure that the plants are as comfortable in the new office as the team.
