We have developed a landscaping concept for a public park inspired by multifaceted history of this place. Since the last century, the ponds have been a favourite place for outings for both residents and visitors of the town. This green area with two artificial waterbodies offers many spots for recreation and leisure.
When creating the landscaping design, we were guided by the existing functional division of space. This resulted in building a summer stage and a stage in the main square, the amphitheatre cladding upgrade, as well as paths surfacing renewal, street furniture and playground and sports ground equipment renewal. We added outdoor kiosks, a pavilion to hold classes and piers with viewpoints at scenic spots in both ponds. Every design solution, marking and pattern on the site, curved paths and various surfacing create an atmosphere that reminds of the events the site was witness to many years ago.
The history of the city is closely connected with the airfield that existed in the XXth century. We found inspiration in this period creating an architectural look of pavilions and canopies. Their multi-layer roofing and oval shapes remind of aircraft bodies, while metal supports, mirror-like surfaces and broken lines add uniqueness to the space. The design of street furniture and park visual identity also draws references to its rich history. Using uniform style on the façades helps create a well-balanced and easily recognizable look of the park.
