The project site is located at the entrance to Kazimir Malevich Park, on a previously non-landscaped area. Its position within a forest-park zone defined the overall design approach: the concept aims to be as close as possible to the natural environment of the surrounding landscape. A key condition for harmonious interaction between the designed space and the natural context is the use of natural materials and forms that correspond to the local terrain. During the design process, characteristic natural landscapes were analyzed, and a palette of materials was identified to artificially shape a place with an authentic natural character.
The central part of the park is occupied by a system of water bodies arranged in cascades. At the highest point of the terrain, a small pond with two waterfalls is created, flowing into a network of streams. Pedestrian routes traverse the park, with boardwalks installed at points where paths cross the watercourses. A ford made of large stone boulders crosses the main pond located at a lower elevation. This ford divides the pond into two parts with different water levels, one of which features an illuminated fountain. The pond and waterfalls are framed by rock boulders overgrown with mosses and lichens; the same material is used to line the streambeds.
Recreational areas are organized at key viewpoints, including observation decks and piers made of wooden decking, as well as intimate seating areas surfaced with crushed stone screenings. This layout provides comprehensive views of the entire park from multiple perspectives.
Boardwalks and small piers throughout the park feature a distinctive structural solution: the piles are set back from the edge of the deck, making them visually less noticeable.
A different approach was developed for the large pier: its metal piles are clad with halved oak logs, secured with metal hoops.
In the design of small architectural forms, preference was given to restrained geometries and natural materials with a rough texture. The pier decking is made of larch boards, while the wooden elements of benches, stools, and wayfinding structures are crafted from solid large-section timber.
The landscape park project предусматривает активное озеленение территории. A buffer zone of thuja, willow, and small-leaved linden is planted along the perimeter. In the northern part of the site, coniferous trees (pine, spruce) and deciduous species (Norway maple, Japanese redbud) are planned. Along the road on the eastern side of the project area, plantings of birch, maple, willow, and rowan are предусмотрены. The primary planting scheme includes junipers, mountain pine, spirea, hawthorn, false spirea (Sorbaria), and other plant species.
