THE TOURIST CLUSTER IN GZHEL

The project connects two main locations of the production of Gzhel ceramics (Gzhel and Novokharitonovo villages) into a single tourism ecosystem with a common center.

The park in Gzhelsky is a central public space with many functions which are used by local residents and guests of the settlement - from sports and playgrounds to meadows with art objects and picnic areas. The fair in Novokharitonovo is another key location for the cluster specializing in traditional crafts. This is a platform for communication between local producers and buyers. It is also an arena of healthy competition for industries. The local pond Novokharitonovo becomes another point of attraction with walkways for fishermen, wooden decking with hammocks, and a playground. We also designed a cycling path in order to connect the anchor points of both settlements and the scattered production of Gzhel ceramics into a single tourist route.
