MIKHAILOVSKAYA EMBANKMENT CONCEPT

The project forms a comfortable recreation area near the Church of the Archangel Michael and reveals the identity of the territory in the historical center of Kolomna.

Kolomna is one of the oldest cities in the Moscow region with a rich history and architectural heritage. The design area is located in close proximity to the Kremlin, next to the Church of Michael the Archangel. Our architectural solutions were made by considering the historical context and local features.

The existing decorative cascade set the main axis of project development. The square in front of St. Michael's Church turns into a system of fountains. The main points of attraction were marked by pedestrian transits. The peculiarity of the territory - a pronounced relief - had a special influence on the planning structure.

The compositional completion of the axis expressed as a square with a fountain, which turns into an embankment, closing the formed ring route. The design of the embankment implies the creation of special niches for relaxation near the water.
